Who is the Jungle Scout API for?

The Jungle Scout API is for scrappy sellers who are looking for new and creative ways to leverage data to build customized tools and gain valuable insights about their Amazon businesses.

The API is also for sellers who want to continue using AI and automation in their day-to-day to help improve the efficiency of their businesses.

In fact, 48% of all Amazon sellers, brands, and businesses have leveraged AI or implemented AI-powered tools to help manage their ecommerce operations, and using the API is another way of doing so.

With the API, sellers can utilize programs such as Google Sheets, Airtable, and Slack to build dynamic self-serving tools and automate specific tasks.

How to get started with the Jungle Scout API

  1. Enable two-factor authentication. Before using the API, make sure to enable 2FA on your account. This is a mandatory security measure. You can do this by visiting your Account Information page on Jungle Scout.
  1. Generate an API key. Visit your Developer section in your Jungle Scout account to generate an API key. This key will be used in the Authorization header of your API requests. When generating your key, you will receive two pieces of information: the Key Name and the API Key (visible only during the generation process). Keep these secure, and do not share them.

  1. Prepare Your API Requests.
  • Base URL: All API requests should be made to https://developer.junglescout.com.
  • Headers: Ensure your requests include the following headers:
    • Content-Type: application/vnd.api+json
    • Accept: application/vnd.junglescout.v1+json
    • Authorization: KEY_NAME:API_KEY (Replace KEY_NAME and API_KEY with your actual key name and API key).
  • Marketplace Parameter: Include the marketplace parameter in your query string, using one of the supported country codes: us, uk, de, in, ca, fr, it, es, mx, jp. This parameter should match one of the country codes allowed for your API key.
  1. Make your first request. A simple way to test your access and start interacting with the API is to perform a product database query or fetch sales estimates for a specific ASIN.

Refer to the detailed Jungle Scout Public API documentation for information on specific endpoints, parameters, and response formats. This will be invaluable as you build and scale your integration.
